Randy's visit

My cute little brother Randy came out to visit and be here for Sam's baptism. Sam is named after Randy so it was really special to have him here.

The photo above is at Mary Mac's Tea Room. Very southern food and everything is fried but it is so yummy! An older lady runs the place and she walks throughout the restaurant giving back rubs to all the customers. Abby is the only one who said "no thanks" to the free back rub. Perhaps it's a southern thing. Randy also tried Pot Likker with cracklin' bread. You get a little free sample if it's your first time visiting Mary Mac's. I though Pot Likker was a word that my Gpa make up but it's actually collard greens in broth with a corn muffin. Who knew?!

I took Randy to Kennesaw Mountain Battlefield. This is a photo of a mine that was dug out to help fight during the Civil War. It's so sobering to walk where thousands of people have died. During the month of June in 1864, over 5000 people died at this particular place

Here we are at Sweetwater Creek State Park. It's a great local recreation spot with a historical background. A textile mill was built with slave labor and it was burned during the Civil War.

Randy is such a great little brother. He has always been the peacemaker in our family. He is funny, cute, outgoing, a great husband to Heather and daddy to 3 darling little kids. I am so glad he took the time and effort to come for a visit. We had fun eating too much, playing Wii, hiking, eating, playing cricket, watching and being scared by a summer thunder storm, talking late, eating, discussing politics, playing basketball..and did I mention eating?

Love you Randy!

When the sister loves the brother to pieces, you know that says a lot for the brother. That's how it is with our girls and Ben, also.

It was fun to see pictures of Randy. He hasn't changed much, still that cute kid with the great smile. Who can resist a peacemaker.
