Testing...1, 2, 3

I've been asked to test out products from eFoodsDirect which is a company who sells food products for emergency preparedness & food storage.  I certainly feel strongly about food storage but have a long way to go myself!

Once I test them out, I'll let you know what I think.  In this day and age, you can never be too prepared!

In a quote from Pres. Ezra Taft Benson, he stated:  “Family preparedness has been a long-established welfare principle. It is even more urgent today. I ask you earnestly, have you provided for your family a year’s supply of food, clothing, and where possible, fuel? The revelation to produce and store food may be as essential to our temporal welfare today as boarding the ark was to the people in the days of Noah.”

"The rains came down & the floods came up"

How many times have we sung that song?! Hundreds? Well, last night here in Douglasville, "the rains came down and the floods came up"! It literally rained all night long. We got about 9-12" of rain and it's not over yet. It was quite a spectacular lightning show too...ALL NIGHT LONG! There wasn't much sleep to be had by any of us due to the storm and then there was a terrible banging sound within the walls of the house. Todd checked and sure enough, we had no water. All of Douglas County has no water, with the exception of all the rain that is. Streets are closed due to flooding, the schools are closed and the stores are being taken over by people who didn't have any water stored. Now, I am not the best at being prepared but I have stored a lot of water in milk jugs as well as some 5 gallon containers. This past spring I did buy some 55 gallon drums but did I get them filled? No! Drat!

When life is rolling along, you don't think about the precious water that comes out of the faucet. We are now in a position where we have to use this water for the toilets, washing dishes & cooking.

My goal this week: FILL UP THE 55 GALLON BARRELS FOR CRYING OUT LOUD!
