In the fall, Sam chooses something he'd like to learn more about or that he's interested in for his PIP (personal interest project). He also has an "advisor" who helps him throughout the year and this year Ms. Schriver helped him.
Sam spent lots of time doing research and figuring out what a news reporter does. Ms. Schriver also happens to know one of the Fox 5 anchors so she coordinated with him to come to the school for a live interview.
