Thursdays

I love Sam's school for many reasons but mainly for the teachers and staff.  Sam has been at ClearWater Academy for 5 years now and we love it.  Sam's Social & Emotional teacher, Mrs. Huber, sent me a text asking if Sam could go to her son's college baseball game on a Saturday.  We met in Carrollton and she took Sam with her to the ball field.  Sam got to watch the game, meet the players, get an autographed ball and hand out snacks to the players.  Sam loves spending time with her and her family.  They love him like he's their own.
Nolan is a freshman in college and every Thursday for the past year Sam gets to call him and chat if he's been cooperative and good that day.  Every Thursday Nolan, who I am sure is busy with classes, practice and being a teenager, takes time out of his schedule to talk to Sam.  Every Thursday.  It is a special day for both guys.
Nolan had to give a speech in one of his classes and he chose Sam to be his topic.  I wish I could have been there to listen to what he said but I'm pretty sure he mentioned Thursdays.
Thanks to the Huber family for loving Sam & for making his life even more special.

 This just in...
Mrs. H. sent me this post off of Nolan's instagram...isn't that sweet!

School's Out For Summer!

It's hard to believe that the school year is over!  Where did it go?  Abby had a great year in 3rd grade and is now off to the Lower School.  It's a little bittersweet as we love the Primary School but it's time to move on.  Abby's school had their parties in the morning which was nice.  They had Community Meeting and all the 3rd graders sang then off to eat a lite breakfast in class then go home.

This is Logan.  She is a Kindergartener and Abby was her mentor this year.  The teacher mentioned what a great mentor Abby was the whole year.  Always watching out for Logan, buying her b-day gifts and just being kind.

Sam also had a great year at ClearWater Academy.  He seemed to gain more independence, got to do some life skills, and worked hard!  We are so happy that Sam is at CWA!

This is Sam's end of school year party!

The most popular kid at the school?  Baby Joey!

Hurray for summer break!

No more filling up the gas tank every week, no more driving!

First Day of School-2011

Man, summer seemed to go by so fast! Perhaps part of it is that Georgia likes to start school in the middle of summer. Lame.

Sam is back at ClearWater Academy again this year. This marks his 4th year at the school and he is now in the Upper School. His homeroom teacher is Mrs. Gullick but he will be changing classes a little bit with two other teachers, Mrs. Huber and Mr. Braxton. We are looking forward to a great school year despite the fact that Sam doesn't want to do school any more. He wants to give up on school.

First Day: Monday, August 15, 2011

Abby is beginning the 3rd grade this year at Woodward Academy. This will be her last year in the Primary School which is bittersweet. Abby wasn't able to go to her school's open house since she was partying in Wyoming but we took photos for her. Abby has Mrs. Campbell this year but since she is on maternity leave, Mrs. Terrie will be the substitute until Mrs. Campbell comes back.

First Day: Monday, August 15, 2011
(Abby returned home the day before school started but was up with a smile despite the 2 hour time change for her.)

We're off to another busy year of school, homework, dance recitals, hiking, piano lessons, horse riding and lots and lots and lots and lots of driving.
