Musical girl

Abby was given an assignment to have an entry for the
"No Place for Hate" campaign.  This is thru her school but kids throughout the country participate.

Abby chose to write lyrics to the song "Roar" by Katy Perry then she recorded it along w/her playing her guitar.

Here are her lyrics:

A Song Without Hate

Let me tell you ‘bout a place I know
It’s a place where you and I should go
There’s no bullying, crying or fighting.

It’s a place of happiness
If you go you should know this
You’ll be accepted and not rejected

It helped us up when we were down
Come along into our town
Where there is no place for the hate
I’m telling you there’s no mistake.

It helped us up when we were down
Come along into our town
There is no place for the hate.

It’s a world without hate,
No fighting, bullying or crying
Cause we’re gonna change the world
One little act at a time.
Acceptance of everybody
Cause we’re gonna change the world,
One little act at a ti-i-i-i-i-ime
Ti-i-i-i-i-ime, one li-i-i-i-itle.
One little act at a time (pause)

Change, Change, Change the World.

It’s a world without hate no
fighting, bullying or crying.
Cause we’re gonna change the world.
One little act at a time. Acceptance of
Everybody.

Cause we’re gonna change the world.
One little act at a Ti-i-i-i-i-ime, ti-i-i-i-ime, one li-i-i-i-i-tle.
One little act at a ti-i-i-i-i-ime, ti-i-i-i-i-ime, one li-i-i-i-i-itle.
One little act at a time

Here's the song:

Recital

Abby wanted to join the Primary Singers group at school so desperately but logistically we just couldn't accommodate it. She then tried out for a little local children's choir but needed a little practice before she could join the group. Again, she was devastated but you can't win everything and I believe it's a good lesson to learn.

Abby then started some voice lessons with the lady who directs the choir, who also happens to be in our ward. After several voice lessons, Abby participated in a recital and she did a good job! She is now a member of the children's choir and will begin in January and she couldn't be happier. Good things come to those who wait (and practice!).

Abby's Christmas concert

Today was Abby's final Christmas concert at the Primary School. It's bittersweet to have this be the end. The concert was great! She played the recorder, sang and danced. All the kids did an amazing job but I do believe Abby was the best in her row!
