During one of our parent meetings at Sam's school, we decided that it would be good to do some activities for just the older kids so they could have some "teen time." You know, do things that "typical" teenagers do.
One mom coordinated a movie so we meet up with some of the other kids and parents and let the kids see a movie. It's so interesting to sit back and watch these kids with a variety of issues enjoy their time, somewhat on their own.
We watched "Hotel Transylvania" and it was a cute movie. Sam sat with his good friend, Allison, who happens to have Asperger's. She is so sweet and good with Sam. They sat and ate popcorn, drank rootbeer and watched the movie. Just like any other kids. Almost.
