I often go to Sam's Club to pick up my bread, chips, salad, fruit and occasional pesto. I am usually (thankfully) alone in my adventures to Sam's but what I have noticed is there are a lot of elderly couples that shop together. I often think to myself, "Is that what happens when you get older? Is your weekly date shopping and lunch at Sam's Club?"
These cute little couples are often dressed for the adventure: The lady typically wears some khaki or print culotts and a nicely ironed button-up floral shirt and some sensible shoes. The man is usually wearing khaki pants and either a golf shirt or a nicely ironed button-up shirt. And sensible shoes. There are A LOT of sensible shoes at Sam's Club.
I even once saw a "double date" at Sam's Club. Two cute couples dining at the Sam's Snack Bar. They were indeed having a good time together.
Is this what will happen when Todd and I are in our 70s & 80s?
Is that what we have to look forward to? Culotts and sensible shoes?
Dare I say I NEVER shop with Todd as it's torture for the both of us. Will we actually enjoy shopping together once we are in our Golden Years?
Perhaps I should start looking for some sensible shoes.
