Spring Break 2011

Every year for the past 6 years we've been going to my in-laws beautiful beach house for Spring Break. We always have a great time. The weather is near perfect, the beach is quiet and we don't fight for beach space, the pool is heated to about 90 degrees and our rules are significantly relaxed. Can't beat that!

We usually go to Pasta Night at the Club. Sam enjoys talking to the chefs and they were nice enough to give him his very own chef's hat.

Sam playing a few holes

Abby's first find...a disgusting fish head

We also brought along our nephew Josh. He had a great time...mostly.

Playing Jenga with G'pa

The water was freezing but the kids didn't seem to care

Sam chillin'

I try every year to get a photo of the kids together...they cooperated.

For anyone who knows Todd knows that he has a personal rule to not get into any sort of water unless it's upwards of 80 degrees. He's a great dad to brave the elements for the kids.

Preparing to boogey board

The kids & Todd spent a long time digging out this hole. It was pretty deep.

Hard days work

Now this is what vacation is all about

So is this

Abby loves to run on the beach with and collect treasures...shells, rocks, sea glass, dead baby turtles.

Swimming in said 90 degree pool

Ice cream by the pool

My fun mother-in-law enjoying a popsicle, magazines, a little sun and a jacket

We took the kids to play mini golf and they had a great time. I do wish the people behind us would adhere to golf etiquette: wait your freaking turn and don't hit your ball onto our hole while we are still there! Just sayin'

Sam is very serious about his golf...even if it's mini golf
(he did win the game by quite a few strokes and even got a hole-in-one)

Abby's careful shot

Josh putting

All together now...

One of our favorite places to go: Wal-Mart sushi (also known as Kabuki)
Dinner & a show! Plus, Will the sushi guy is awesome!

Abby will eat anything you give her sushi-wise. She loves octopus, fish eggs, raw tuna, jelly fish...you name it, she'll eat it.

Todd's dinner

As always, we have a wonderful time and get to enjoy the time together without homework, school schedules, chores and DRIVING!
